Looking Back...Highlights taken from coach Serno's comments

The 2007-2008 wrestling season is now history.  We can look back on it and as we allow all the results sink in, we can realize it was a terrific season.  We met most (although not all) of our goals.  Here is a summation of our accomplishments:
  • We recorded the schools 400th win to start out the year.
  • We won our second straight Section II title.
  • We won the Lancaster Lebanon League tournament with one champion (Blake Rosenberger) and 11 medalists.
  • We won two other tournaments (Donegal and E-town) and placed second in a third.
  • We qualified for the district team tournament again.
  • We competed in the toughest sectional tournament in the state and still qualified 9 wrestlers for the district tournament.
  • We also had a state qualifier in Shane Rosenberry.
  • We had six wrestlers earn 30 or more wins in the season and 4 others recording more than 20 wins.

Where do we go from here?

If we are to continue to improve and if we want to continue to compete with state caliber teams and reach goals of the State dual tournament and earn more state medals we cannot be content with the wonderful accomplishments of this season. We must be willing to work harder for further success. Don't hold back. Push yourself and push your teammates.

Many thanks...

Gentlemen, you are now part of a wrestling tradition with 413 wins. We have had 56 Sectional Champions, 14 District Champions 36 State Qualifiers and 13 State Medalists. Thank you to the seniors (Oliver Thayer, Blake Rosenberger, Robby Townsley, Zacc Distasio, Hayden Gerhart, Sean McMullen and Travis Leber) and best of luck as you move on. Underclassmen, the challenge has been served. Can you three-peat? To all of you, congratulations and thank you, it has been an honor and a priviledge to coach you. Coach Serno.
