Michael Sernoffsky

Michael Sernoffsky is in his twenty-seventh season as head coach of the Bears. During his tenure, Mike has coached a State champion 4 finalists, nine state place winners, six district champions, twenty-three state qualifiers, and twenty-six sectional champions. Included in his 199 victories are section titles in 1996 and 2007. Elizabethtown has almost always been in contention for the section crown under coach Sernoffsky’s tutelage. Before coming to Elizabethtown, Mike was an assistant at Gettysburg High School and Iroquois High School in New York. Mike is an inductee of the Iroquois Central Hall of Fame and the Iroquois Wrestling Hall of Fame. He teaches sixth grade in the middle school. He teaches Sunday school and is the school coordinator for Destination Imagination. He has recently been selected to serve on the executive committee of the District III wrestling coaches association. Mike and his wife Elaine reside in Elizabethtown. Their two children, Jared and Janae are in college.

JP Stauffer

J.P. Stauffer graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School in 1996. This is his 11th year as our assistant coach. He was a four-year starter for the Bears during high school. His many achievements include: Team captain, state qualifer, 3-time district qualifier, 2-time sectional champion, 3-time Donegal Holiday Tournament champion, 2-time Yellow Jacket champion, 2-time Lancaster- Lebanon League champion, 3-time League all-star, and 2-time BAGUBA of the year. His 100 career wins places him fourth on Elizabethtown’s all-time victories list. J.P. is now an integral part of two of Elizabethtown’s section titles, one as a wrestler and last season as a coach. J.P. went to Pennsylvania College of Technology to become a Heavy Construction Equipment Technician. He is currently employed by Marvin Weaver and repairs Caterpillar equipment. He and his wife Tammy and his daughter Marley live in Elizabethtown.

Bobby Crick

Mr. Crick has been a part of the Bear’s coaching staff for 7 years. He is a terrific motivator and has also been a part of the last two section titles for Elizabethtown as a wrestler and a coach. Bobby graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School in 1997. Bobby was a 3-time District qualifier, LL League champion, and 2-time first team All-State Academic All-Star. After high school, he was captain and four-year starter at Franklin & Marshall College. Bobby graduated with a degree in Geosciences, went on for his Masters degree at Millersville and is now a teaching earth science at Elizabethtown High School. He and his wife Joan reside in Elizabethtown with their daughter Adrienne.

Pat Danneker

Pat serves as our strength coach. He is a graduate of State College Area High School (1985) where he earned several varsity letters in multiple sports and was named captain in both football and track. He is also a 1989 graduate of Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Psychology. He ran track and was a four-year starter in football. He is also in his fourth year coaching the varsity football program. Pat and his wife and two children, Jared and Maggie reside in Elizabethtown.

Luke Stauffer

Luke is a 2002 graduate of Elizabethtown HS. He was a 2-time state medalist finishing 6th as a Junior and 3rd as a senior. He was the District III champion in 2001. Luke holds the school rccord for most career wins with 129 victories. Upon graduation Luke attended the University of Maryland on a wrestling scholarship. He graduated in 2006 with a degree in Physical Education. He is currently teaching health and physical education at Susquehanna Township High School . This is Luke’s third year as a volunteer assistant. He is a tremendous asset to the program. Luke lives in Elizabethtown.

Dr. Paul Curtin

Doc Curtin is the Elizabethtown school physician. He has been very involved with Elizabethtown sports for the past several years. Along with helping our trainers work with our athletes on physical issues like rehab from injuries, Doc focuses on the mental part of the sport. Doc works with the team as a group and individually on the psychological aspects of wrestling. He lives in Hershey and has a medical practice at Renaissance Health Care in Hershey.
